I’m in a giving mood and i have a bag full of Pop-A-Top Yarn. So that means im doing my 3rd contest on this here blog! Rules are simple. Leave a comment with a link to a photo of the most beautiful fish you’ve caught to date. Dead Or Alive, I don’t care. Ill use the random number generator once again to choose the winner. And the winner will receive three packages of the finest quality yarn made in the great state of Oregon. Ill be the first one to enter just so i can show off a beautiful trout i caught last year on the Upper Fork of the Rogue River above Lost Creek Lake. I’m thinking about taking all the entry photos and putting them all into a future post. So if you dont want your picture in a future post on this blog just let me know.
Winner will be announced Saturday morning.
Thanks to to Pop-A-Top Yarn and thanks to the readers! Tight Lines
And in the infamous words of Charlie Sheen. “WINNING!!!” That’s what Jay Broad of the half dead Fishing Beaver Guy Blog said, i would imagine, when i told he had won the pink UV yarn. 😀 lol.
If you’ve visited this blog before then you probably noticed a major change in the appearance. The background is that picture above. St. Patrick’s day I was out on the Applegate River above the dam in California and came across this tree that i took a photo of. I uploaded it to facebook and my buddy Colby Pearson decided to edit it. I thought it looked awesome an added it on here for the background. And as you can see i have a header now too. My friend from Southern Cali made it for me over a year ago and i just now decided to use it, thanks Jessica Gotti! Well with the new look will come new content, such as more contests(better ones!) Gear reviews that i approve of (stuff I use) More Featured Reports from friends of my blog. More videos in the Youtube Friends section, and best of all, Moar Fish Porn!!!! Thanks for reading and Tight Lines!
There are alot of differnt gimmicks in the fishing tackle industry to try to lure the fishermen in. I personally think UV is one the things out there like that. Who knows though right. I think Kokanee fishermen have had success with UV and glow in the dark products but they are fishing much deeper then UV products for Salmon and Steelhead in rivers. So with that said I’m doing my 2nd contest, this time it’s for some pink UV Steelhead Stalkers Yarn. It’s a small package, retails for $3.00 I’m not sure what variation of pink this was, the SS brand carries a variety of colors of the color pink. Kinda confusing if you ask me lol. So if you would like to win this unique piece of fishing tackle, made here in Oregon, just leave a comment on here about your thoughts on UV in the fishing industry.
Now you’ve seen Bigfoot and UV yarn. Just a FYI the yarn was bought at the sportsman show a few weeks back. Its quite rare actually kinda like the furry guy 😀
Good Luck and Tight Lines! The next giveaway will be much better guaranteed!
winner will be announced on the 19th Saturday morning
That’s right im doing my first ever contest, give-a-way, what ever you want to call it. Iv got some spinners from Wyld Edge Outfitters to test and review on my blog. But i figured id let a lucky reader or two get to fish with one of these cool Oregon made spinners. The rules are simple for this contest. All you got to do is leave a comment saying what your favorite outdoor blog is and leave the address. That easy! Ill use the random number generator to choose the winner Sunday night. One more rule for you bloggers, you cant name your own blog 🙂
The first spinner im giving away is a Black Stone Fly 1/16 oz. size #1 trout spinner. You only have 3 days to enter your submission so hurry up!
I have a few things i want to touch on. I tend to only post when i have a report, but once in awhile i got a non fishing report thats interesting enough to post 😀
First of all id like you all to know about Recycled Fish. Recycled Fish is the national non-profit organization of “anglers living a Lifestyle of Stewardship both on and off the water, because Our Lifestyle Runs Downstream.” Its a great group of people and theyre doing some awesome things that i recommend you all check out! Also right now they’re having a contest where you can win a custom rod, all you gotta do is tell some one about Recycled Fish. How easy is that?!?! The contest ends in one day, so hurry up and enter. Enter the contest HERE
Secondly. Id like to inform you about a contest going on over at Abnormal Outdoors. It appears that each month Ben will hold a contest for stories that were reader submitted on his blog. A $10 Dicks Sporting Goods gift card is up for grabs. So go vote for the Bigfoot Sighting. Since my town doesnt have a Dicks, my plans are if i win to do a contest of my own on this here blog. VOTE HERE
Thirdly. Id like to do a Blogroll shout out. The first blog is a semi new blog and its chalk full of awesome stories and cool fish porn photos from Oregon to Alaska. The blog im talking about is the River Keeper. The Author of the blog Brad is a member of the Oregon Fishing Forum that im part of. He’s one of the most colorful people that are on there and also one on the most knowledgeable. Iv asked for advice a few times from him and hes shared some great info with me. I hope you all check his blog out and leave him some comments! http://riverkeeper1.blogspot.com/
Fourthly. Recently over at the Outdoor Blogger Network they had a writing prompt. They want to know if you had the chance to meet a fellow Outdoor Blogger who would it be and why. The first person would be Brad from over at the River Keeper. I know if i were to fish the river with him for one day id gain so much more info on how to fish flowing water then what i know right now. Plus it would be great time full of laughs im sure. The second person is the Outdoor Blogging godfather Mel from Blog Cabin Angler. Like many other bloggers out there Mel was my first follower, and you can always count on him for leaving some great comments. I know for a fact with out Mel the Outdoor Blogging community wouldnt be the same. Thanks for all you’ve done Mel, and if your ever in Oregon make sure you give me a holler so we can wet a line! The third and last person would be Mark from over at Northern California Trout. Marks been running an absolutely great blog for some time now. He runs his blog kinda like i do mine, mostly fishing reports and no nonsense. Mark mostly fishes for trout in his local ponds and lakes, but you can also find him at the rivers trying to catch steelhead and shad some times. He’s a great guy and id love to sit down at a lake and plunk some powerbait and toss spinners and share fishing stories with him.
Fifthly. If you’ve read my blog once or many times you have probably noticed that my blog is kind of based around pictures. Like in real life i dont usually have much to say. So i kinda let the photos tell the strory. So ill end this post with a picture i took yesterday February the 1st. Ill do a full report later and include more photos and the story. Thank you all for reading. Tight Lines!
